Lamb & Mutton Shares

We have whole grass-fed lamb and mutton shares available for purchase. Our Navajo Churro sheep are a slow-growing heritage breed that takes time to reach the ideal weight for consumption. Lambs are 12-17 months and adults (mutton) are 18-24 months. Adults have not been used for breeding or exposed to a breeding cycle. 

During the spring and summer, we use pasture rotation on our homestead. In the winter months, we feed them high-protein millet hay to help them maintain their body weight.

The adult sheep weigh between 85-120 lbs, while the lambs weigh between 65-85 lbs. We charge $6.00 per pound based on live weight, which is the weight of each sheep before harvest. You will receive approximately 20-25 lbs of lamb and 25-36 lbs of mutton. 

Your $100 deposit goes toward the butchering service, and will be applied to your total order price.  You will receive a cut sheet for the specific cuts you would like to order. You will pick how you would like your meat processed. All orders must be paid in full prior to us picking up the lamb or mutton from the butcher. You can pick up your orders at our farm, or I can deliver locally within 25 miles at no extra charge. 

Orders will be ready by mid April 2025.
